Professor Michael Pollitt is a prominent economist specializing in energy economics and policy. He is a Professor of Business Economics at the Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, and a Fellow of Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge.

 

Pollitt completed his education at the University of Cambridge, earning his undergraduate and PhD degrees. He has held academic positions at various institutions, including a post-doctoral fellowship at MIT. His research interests include the regulation of energy markets, efficiency in energy use, renewable energy, and the economics of energy policy.

 

Pollitt has authored and co-authored several influential books, such as “The Economics of Energy (Energy Systems),” “Electricity Reform in Europe: Towards a Single Energy Market,” and “The Economics and Politics of Climate Change.” He has published numerous articles in leading academic journals like the Journal of Public Economics and The Energy Journal, covering topics such as the impact of privatization and regulation on energy efficiency and the economics of energy market reform.
