Professor Gishan Dissanaike
Adam Smith Professor of Corporate Governance and Finance
Gishan Dissanaike became the Dean of Cambridge Judge Business School in December 2024. Gishan’s research interests include the efficiency of stock markets, and corporate finance and governance. He is the recipient of several research awards, including the Iddo Sarnat Prize, awarded by the Journal of Banking & Finance and the European Finance Association; ESRC Research Fellowship; and Academic Fellowship of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales. He was also a Finalist at the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) Clinical Papers Competition, where the finalists were invited to attend the Nobel Prize ceremony in Stockholm.
He has been consulted by a number of international corporations, investment banks, and regulatory agencies. Prior to joining academia, he worked for Banque Indosuez (now Credit Agricole Group, currently the 3rd largest bank in Europe). He has also been a visiting professor at Cornell University in the USA. Gishan completed his MPhil and PhD in Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Trinity College, Cambridge.
