Samsurin brings over 20 years of industry and academic experience in sustainability, strategy and technological disruption. He studies circularity and sustainability from the lens of strategy, disruption and competitive advantage, particularly how innovations with business models (e.g. circular and carbon markets) and digitalization (e.g. AI, blockchain, Internet of Things) help companies win in the green transition. He teaches regularly on the Executive MBA and Executive Education programs.

He is also an entrepreneur and his current UK and UAE-based venture HyveGeo develops a unique bioengineering approach to address two grand challenges – boosting food security in arid regions and durably removing millions of tons of carbon dioxide from the air.

Samsurin has worked in leadership and advisory roles in strategy and technology across energy, retail, technology, and manufacturing sectors. He was previously the head of digital strategy and innovation for PETRONAS and has advised public and private sector organizations on sustainability, circular economy and digital transformation.
